Matthew Ehret: 23-09-2026,
This week, I had the privilege of taking part in two events held in Moscow starting with the ‘We Won Together’ international documentary film festival, followed by the second international summit of the World Peoples’ Assembly.
Moscow itself was a beautiful city featuring an interesting fusion of gorgeous 18-19th century classical styles, Art Nouveau, some Deco, some interesting 1940s-50s Stalinist fusion of Soviet/Western style, and a some 1960s-70s soviet blocky cold and weird stuff that in my humble opinion should be demolished at some point. However the vast majority was classical and beautiful reminiscent of the city scapes of Old Prague.
It was clean, the people dignified and hosted the most incredible array of Subway stations that not only blew every North American subway out of the water, but also beat out the best museums we have in one sweep. Below are three short videos featuring my first experience with two Moscow stations:
Red Square was a blast featuring what I was told is the world’s oldest shopping mall, Lenin’s tomb, old churches, the Kremlin and more…
After the first day, I had the pleasure of hanging out with my buddy Tim Kirby (host of Russia Reloaded) where we finally got to chat face to face about his projects (including his new sci fi book series available on Russian and American markets dubbed ‘Ultra Heavy’, the setbacks he faced on the American Cities project, and his broader hopes for the world.
